Cuba Town Board thanks Robert Carney for his 18 years of service to the town

PRESS RELEASE

Robert Carney resigned as Cuba Town Supervisor at the beginning of the Town’s organizational meeting held on January 8, 2019, at the Cuba Circulating Library.  Mr. Carney read a prepared statement commenting on his 18 years of service to the town and made a special effort to thank many of its long-term employees by name for their service and dedication.
Due to the unanticipated resignation, the remaining board members determined that the organizational meeting should be adjourned until a later date, and after a short break, the regular meeting commenced with an amended agenda. Members of the audience, the board, and various town departments thanked Mr. Carney for his service to the town.
At the close of the meeting, Joe Miller accepted the board’s nomination to fill the remainder of Mr. Carney’s term, which expires December 31, 2019.  The board announced that there is a special meeting scheduled for January 15, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at the Palmer Opera House, 12 W Main Street, Cuba.  The purpose of the meeting is to complete the organizational meeting and address any other business.
The board is committed to continuity in town services and is confident that Cuba’s best days are ahead.
