Born in Hornell, December 16, 1959, the son of Richton and Freda Dailey Gardiner, Jeff was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, Class of 1978. While in High School, he was a member of the football team and played trombone in the High School Band. . He had been employed as a limo driver for Keith Isaman Limousine Service in Hornell as well as the former Franklin Furniture Company, Orkin, Raymour and Flanagan in Rochester and Kaybee Toys in Canandaigua.
He enjoyed dirt racing, cooking and canning, and food preparation but Jeff’s greatest love was for music, He played piano and lead guitar and was active in many bands in the area including; Ice Water Mansion, Broken Bonez and most recently, Project 6. He especially enjoyed the music of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Rush, Pink Floyd ,UK, Queens Ryche.
He was predeceased by his father; Richton Gardiner, his grandparents; Randall and Esther Dailey and Charles and Frances Gardiner, as well as his nephew; Thomas C. Ames II.
He is survived by his mother, Freda Kelly of Canisteo, two daughters; Jessica Gardiner and Jennifer Gardiner both of Hornell, two sons; Christopher (Julia) Gardiner of Baldwinsville, NY and Patrick Gardiner of Laurel, Maryland, his brother; Dennis (Nancy) Gardiner of Harpursville, NY, his sister; Sharon Ames of Arkport, four grandsons; Devin, CJ, Jeremiah, and Alexander Gardiner, three step-sisters; Annette (Dan) Marsh of Scio, Theresa Hand of Rochester and Sharon (Gary) Lamphear of Dunkirk, two step-brothers; Jon (Robin) Kelly of Scio and Raymond (Donna) Kelly of Texas, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and his favorite feline friend,”Aja”.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo on Wednesday (Dec. 19, 2918) from 1-3 p.m. when a memorial service will follow calling hours at 3 PM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
