A joint investigation conducted this past weekend by the Canisteo Village Police Department and the New York State Police has resulted in the arrest of six people for felony drug and weapons related charges in the village of Canisteo.
During the investigation, police located a Ruger .22 caliber rifle, an illegally possessed High Point assault rifle, a loaded .357 magnum handgun, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana. The following were arrested in conjunction with this investigation:
--Donald C. Strope, age 31, of Addison, N.Y. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 2nd Degree; Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon, 3rd Degree; Unlawful Possession of Marijuana; Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, 3rd Degree; Operating with Improper Plates; & an Exhaust Violation. Strope was arraigned in Canisteo Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 cash / $200,000.00 property bond.
--Tyrand T. Scott, age 29, of Corning, NY. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 7th Degree. Scott was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Canisteo Village Court at a later date.
--Lee E. Richeson, age 57, of Canisteo, NY. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 5th Degree. Richeson was arraigned in Canisteo Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash / $20,000.00 property.
--Jesse E. Tomlinson, age 28, of Addison, NY. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree. Tomlinson was arraigned in Canisteo Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail with no bail.
--Zachary W. Pecor, age 36, of Addison, NY. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 3rd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 4th Degree; and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Pecor was arraigned in Canisteo Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail with no bail.
--Deeana M. Brewer, age 24, of Addison, NY. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree. Brewer was arraigned in Canisteo Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 cash / $100,000.00 property bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
