Allegany County: Man receives probation, fine in felony DWI conviction

A man from Black Creek will spend the next five years on probation after he admitted in court to felony aggravated driving while intoxicated. Joel S. Burgess, 56, was also sentenced Monday to pay a $1,000 fine, $520 in surcharges, loss of license for one year and six months of ignition interlock. Judge Terry Parker also sentenced Burgess to community service and he must attend a Victim Impact Panel. In December 2017, Burgess was stopped on State Route 305 in New Hudson. Eight other counts were dismissed. The case was prosecuted by Tom Fuoco; Burgess was represented by Fern Adelstein.
