Allegany County Sheriff monthly report - January 2018

 
 
In addition to the regular county committee meetings Sheriff Whitney also attended thefollowing meetings and /or events:
- January 2 – Legislature Organization Meeting
- January 4 – Pheasant Program Board meeting
- January 8 – Chaplains meeting
- January 9 - Allegany County Suicide Prevention Coalition meeting
- January 9 – Elder Abuse Prevention Committee meeting
- January 9 – Belmont Senior Citizens meeting
- January 15 – Hallsport Christian Church Board Meeting
- January 17 – VRT, SART and DART Case reviews
- January 17 – TRIAD meeting
- January 18 – Pistol Permit meeting with District Attorney and County Attorney
- January 19 – Raise the Age meeting
- January 19 – 21st Century Grant Advisory Committee meeting at Andover CS
- January 20 – Almond Fire Dept. Annual meeting
- January 21 thru 24 – NYS Sheriff’s Association Winter Conference in Albany
- January 25 – Amish Mobility Safety Advisory Committee meeting
- January 25 – Fire Advisory Board meeting
- January 26 – County Heroin and Opioid Ad-hoc committee meeting
o-January 29 and 30 – NYSAC Conference in Albany

 *On January 9 Sheriff Whitney and JA Ivers spoke to the Belmont Senior Citizens group on the Sheriff’s Office and Jail operations.

 *On January 15 Sheriff Whitney gave an Active Shooter presentation to the Hallsport Christian Church

 *On January 16 our CERT Team conducted a facility shakedown. 57 Inmates were double locked for minor rule violations and 2 inmates were arrested (one for damaging county property and one for contraband)

 *January 21-24 Sheriff Whitney attended the New York State Sheriff’s Association Winter Conference in Albany and was elected Sgt. at Arms of the Association.

 *January 29-30 Sheriff Whitney and Jail Administrator Ivers attend the NYSAC Conference in Albany, attending the Public Safety meeting and two workshops (Implementation of Raise the Age) and (County Solutions to Mental Illness in the Criminal Justice System)

 *The Civil Division served 116 civil processes and collected various undertakings totaling $65,991.99 December 23, 2017 through January 23, 2018.
