Area hospitals restrict visitors

Due to an increase in influenza in the region, beginning today St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell will enact temporary visitor policies. According to the hospital,  no more than two visitors plus one designated caregiver/support person may be present in a patient’s room at any time; No one under the age of 14 is permitted to visit the Hospital and no visitors with symptoms of fever, cough, body aches, or a sore throat may enter the hospital.

Due to the increasing number of influenza cases in the area, Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville is implementing visitor restrictions beginning today, Wednesday, January 3 at 12 Noon. This is in collaboration with adjacent counties.  We encourage the public to cooperate in our efforts to protect our patients. Visitor restrictions are: no more than two visitors at a time for a patient and no one under 14 years of age will be allowed to visit (except for healthy siblings of healthy newborns).
No word on restrictions from Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
