Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department to Host Blood Drive

WHITESVILLE, NY— On Wednesday, Nov. 29, the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department, located at 496 Main Street, will host a Community Blood Bank (CBB) blood drive from 4-7p.m.
“November is a month to give thanks,” says Lora Cope, CBB Mobile Drive Coordinator. “We are encouraging others to donate blood—giving others a reason to give thanks.  During this month and throughout the entire year, we are thankful for our donors and the support of Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department.”
Blood donation appointments are not necessary, but can be made if preferred. Eligible donors should be healthy, over 110 pounds, and be at least 17 years of age. In addition, a 56-day time period is required from previous donations.
Donors are encouraged to eat a nutritious meal within approximately four hours prior to giving blood. Free snacks and beverages to replenish a donor’s energy will be available following a donation.
For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate blood, contact 877-842-0631 or visit www.FourHearts.org.
