Angelica - John R.
Hunt, 72, of 37 Brooklyn Street, passed away peacefully Saturday (October 14,
2017) at home. Born in Cuba, NY, September 15, 1945, the son of Claire and
Myrtle (Gould) Hunt, he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Cuba
Central School. John was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran serving from 1968-1971. He
was retired from the Town of Caneadea Highway Department. He was a life member
of the AMVETS, the Cuba VFW, Legion Post #808 in Belmont, and formerly of the
Belfast Post#1504, he was also a life member of the Macedonia Masonic Lodge
#258 in Bolivar. He was predeceased by the love of his life Neva C. Hunt on
March 15, 2013, whom he’d married on April 18, 1978 he was also predeceased by
his brother Jim Hunt.
He is survived by his son Jon (Kathy) Hunt of Warsaw, his
daughter Tammie Hunt of Florida, 2 step sons Barry (Cathy) Case of Hamlin, Mike
(Del) Case of Scio, 2 sisters Pat (Bill) Rose of Cuba, Martha Bennett of Cuba,
grandchildren Jill Whitebeck, Julie Case, Kristen Case, Eric Case, Ashley Lindsey,
Emma Hare, Katelyn Hunt, Katelyn Hunt, Greg Hare, Carlee Hunt, and Connor Hare,
his nephews Rick, Dave, and Stanley Hunt.
The family will be present 3-5 p.m. Thursday, October 19,
2017, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue in Angelica,
where Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m., with Father Dennis Mancuso
officiating, and a Masonic Service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be in Until the Day
