Cattaraugus County: Man gets probation in alcohol-fueled crash that kills wife

A man who crashed his motorcycle, killing his passenger wife two years ago, has avoided prison. In Cattaraugus County court Monday, Michael Baker, 53, of Machias, was sentenced to five years probation. A judge also revoked his license for a year and required an ignition interlock device when he drives again. Prosecutors said Baker lost control of his bike, tossing himself and his wife to the pavement. His wife, 43-year-old Dianne, died at the scene. Mr. Baker was also seriously injured.
