Press release from Alfred Police Chief Paul Griffith
Type of Investigation:  Drug
Date and Time:   04/01/2017
Location:  South Main Street in the Village of Alfred
Details of the Incident:
While out on proactive patrol of the Village of Alfred, officers were patrolling South Main Street. Officers observed a plastic package with duct tape in the roadway. Officers retrieved the package and took it back to the Alfred PD where it was determined by Narcotics Identifying System (NIK) to be 1.5 lbs of Heroin.  At this time, our agency believes that the Heroin found was not intended for distribution in Alfred. Alfred remains to have a low instance of Heroin related cases and our Agency also believes that this not a danger to the community. We do ask if any person has any information to contact the Alfred Police Department at 607-587-8877.
