Nunda man arrested on felony sex charge

NUNDA: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Nunda man on felony sex abuse charges.
On March 10th, 2017 an investigation began after a concerned person reported to Deputy Ross Gerace, who is the assigned Deputy Sheriff detailed to Keshequa as their School Resource Officer, that 34 year old Bryan A. Bailey may have been having inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile female.
Sheriff's Investigator Gene Chichester of the Criminal Investigations Division, along with Livingston County Child Protective Services, joined in the investigation with Deputy Gerace.
Following the investigation, it is alleged that Bailey did have inappropriate sexual contact with the juvenile when she was under the age of 13.
The investigation resulted with Bailey being charged with the D felony of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Bailey was arrested on March 16th and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. The District Attorney’s Office provided a bail recommendation of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
Bailey was later arraigned in the Town of Sparta before Judge Scollon. The Judge did remand Bailey to the custody of the Sheriff on $25,000 cash or $50,000 secured bond.
 UPDATE FROM SHERIFF: Regarding Bailey arrest.  There is no connection to Keshequa School (teacher, worker etc) nor did it occur on school grounds.  The info just happened to come through our Deputy assigned to the school.
