Deadly Wellsville fire remains under investigation

A fire on South Broad Street in Wellsville January 27, 2017 remains under investigation. Victor Fiske, 71, who lived in the home, died as a result of the blaze. Monday morning, Police Chief Timothy O'Grady said there still has been no determination if the fire was accidental or suspicious. O'Grady said the scene is "still under investigation. We are waiting for the results to some tests being conducted on evidence at the NYSP Crime Lab." The police chief added that the Medical Examiner has not yet released the official cause of death.
Wellsville Fire Chief Shaun Walsh did confirm this morning that there were smoke detectors inside the home.
