COUDERSPORT, PA---George P. Dubots, Jr., 79, a lifelong
resident of Coudersport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at
UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born on Tuesday, January 29, 1946, in Coudersport, he was a
son of George P. Sr. and Helen E. Pekarski Dubots.
George was a graduate of Coudersport High School, Class of
1963. He furthered his education at Lock Haven University.
George, who was retired, was employed for many years at Pure
Carbon and was additionally employed by Maple Manor in Port Allegany.
George was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church in
Coudersport. He was a man of great faith having sent daily blessings by
Facebook Messenger to family and friends. George was very committed to the AA
program as a mentor for over 45 years for anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting
and fishing. He helped his brother with the family business, Jerry’s Meat
Processing in Coudersport. He enjoyed all sports, especially the sports his
children and grandchildren participated in. He loved his dogs and many others
of friends and family. His greatest love was his family.
Left to cherish his memory are a son, George P. (Vicky)
Dubots III of Coudersport; a daughter-in-law, Jodi L. (Anderson) Dubots of
Temecula, California; five grandchildren, Darian Dubots, Damon Dubots, Cole
Dubots, Dana (Hunter) Redmond, and Callie Dubots, who all lovingly called
George, “Fishing Grandpa”; and a great-grandson, Archer F. Redmond who George
was elated to welcome to the family. Also left to cherish his memory are two
bonus grandchildren, Devin (Myk) Fox and Garrett (Macie) Kio; two bonus great-grandchildren,
Anna Bean and Michael Bean; a sister, Frances C. Carpenter of Coudersport; a
sister-in-law, Jenny Pekarski of Croydon, PA; several nieces and nephews; dear
friends, Jim and Tammy Harkins, Jim and Kristin Gavin, Tim Schoener, and many
others too numerous to list individually.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a son,
John P. Dubots; three brothers, James W. Pekarski, Joseph A. Dubots, and Jerome
F. Dubots; a brother-in-law, Michael J. Carpenter, Sr; and two nephews, Michael
J. Carpenter, Jr. and James W. Pekarski, Jr.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Eulalia Catholic
Church, Coudersport, on a date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in George’s name may be made
to his son’s memory and legacy, The John P. Dubots Scholarship Fund, c/o
Citizens & Northern Bank, 10 N. Main Street, Coudersport, PA 16915; to
Alcoholics Anonymous on their online Contributions portal; or charity of the
donor’s choice.
George’s family has entrusted his care and cremation
arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L.
Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
