Obituary: Kathryn A. Blewett, 81, of Coudersport

 

COUDERSPORT, PA----Kathryn A. Blewett, 81, of Coudersport, Pennsylvania passed away on October 29, 2024 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. 

Born on November 28,1942 in Greentown, Pennsylvania, Kathryn dedicated much of her life to the care and wellbeing of others, both as a Registered Nurse and a devoted mother.  Kathryn graduated from Hawley High School in Hawley, PA and completed her education in nursing at Scranton Mercy Hospital.  She spent much of her professional career at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport. 

Despite her commitments as a medical secretary and nurse, Kay's primary focus was raising her three children, a role she cherished deeply.  Her nurturing nature was also reflected in her involvement with the Catholic Daughters of America and her faithful attendance at St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport, PA.  She was known for her fun-loving attitude, strong faith, and the kindness she extended to all.  Kay's love for her family and friends was evident in every aspect of her life.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter Theresa VanZile (Wes) of Chester, SC; sons, Mark Blewett (Deanna) of Pittsburgh, PA; and John Blewett (Dawn) of Waxhaw, NC; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Duffy and Evelyn Myer Duffy and her brother Neil Duffy. 

Family and friends can celebrate Kathryn during her Mass intention at St. Eulalia’s Catholic Church, 6 Maple Street, Coudersport, PA 16915 on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Eulalia Catholic Church, honoring Kathryn's commitment to her faith and community.  

Kathryn entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
