Obituary: Keith G. “Moose” Ward, 66, Olean

Keith G. “Moose” Ward:  Loving Father, Grandfather, and Brother 

Keith G. “Moose” Ward, 66, of 210 N. 7th Street, Olean, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 3, 2021 at home.

Born on March 8, 1954, in Olean, he was a son of Harry E. and Beatrice Osgood Ward.

He was a graduate of the former Cuba Central School.

Keith was a truck driver all of his life first working for Frank C. Resch Distributing from 1974-1990 and then Meadow Brook Dairies which later became Dean Foods from 1990-2005, and then for Olean Wholesale from 2005-2009 at which time he retired. 

He enjoyed music and loved taking care of and spending time with his family, Moose will be remembered as a hardworking man and for his dry sense of humor.  In his mother’s later years, he was always there to take care of her and lend a helping hand when needed. 

He is survived by his children Maxwell (Rose) Ward of Olean, Ricci (John Brunner) Ward of West Clarksville, Alicia (Joseph Ferguson) McPhee of Olean, James Ward of Centerville, Gina (Jesse) Maltby of Delevan, Lacy (Adam Malone) Porter of Centerville; His grandchildren, Nicholas, Colin, Lucian, Camden, Christopher, Jason, and Kylie; two sisters, Karla (Stewart Freeman) Frost of Cuba and Kerry (Steve) Butler of Georgetown, Kentucky; Several Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Kathy Clayson and a special Uncle Dutch Osgood whom he was very close with. At his request there will be no services.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 331 Alberta Dr # 106, Buffalo, NY 14226 a cause that was close to his heart.
