Ilie L. Maine "Loving Wife, Mother, & Grandmother"BELFAST - Ilie L. Maine, 72, of 103 South Main Street, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Buffalo General Hospital, following an illness. Ilie was born on October 28, 1948 in Franklinville and was the daughter of Thorton and Jean Freer Wardhought. On December 24, 1987, at the First Baptist Church of Olean, she married her husband of 33 years, Floyd E. Maine, who survives. Ilie was a 1966 graduate of Franklinville High School. She continued her education and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and in Social Work from Empire State. Ilie cleaned homes while she attended school for about 10 years. Ilie enjoyed crocheting, making things for her children, and her grandchildren, but she truly loved spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a very loving person who was always helping someone and giving of herself. Along with her loving husband, Floyd, Ilie is survived by; 5 children, Brian Bridenbaker, Karon Wickwyer of Cuba, Sherman Thift of Mercer, Rodney Hill of Gowanda, and Joseph (Brittany) Hill of Gilmer, TX; in addition to her 5 children she raised many more children; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother, Aron (Pattie Jo) Wardhought of Machias. Ilie was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Davenport on November 30, 2009. Friends will be received at the Epic Church, 421 West Henley Street, Olean, on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Chuck Maine, Pastor, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean.
