From the Canaseraga Central School District:
Unfortunately, I have updated information regarding
additional positive COVID-19 cases in our school community.
We have a teacher and two students who have been added to
our positive list. With this addition, we now have over 50 people who have been
impacted.
Due to the impact on our high school teaching staff and the
number of high school students who will be in quarantine – our 7 thru 12
students will go fully remote starting on Monday, November 16. Assuming things
improve, 7-12 students will return to in-person instruction on Monday, November
30.
Our Pre-K thru 6th grade students will continue attending
in-person instruction. I have consulted with the Allegany Department of Health
and they have not advised moving our elementary students to remote instruction
at this time.
Monday will be another day of review activities for 7-12
students. High school teachers will use this day to prepare for the week of
remote instruction. Regular remote instruction will begin on Tuesday, November
17. Students should know that assignments during remote instruction will be
graded and student engagement is absolutely expected. The remote schedule for
students will be posted on our school website by Monday evening.
Students in special education programs outside the building
will continue to attend those programs unless students are in quarantine.
Any students who attend a vocational program should attend
those classes remotely. We will NOT be transporting students to the Wildwood
Campus. If students have any issues getting connected remotely, they should be
communicating directly with their vocational instructor.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition in instruction.
