STATE OF EMERGENCY
DECLARATION
As of 8:00 a.m. April 16, 2020, with the power given by State Executive Law
Section 24, I, Shad Alsworth, Town of Wellsville Supervisor, find that the
public safety continues to be imperiled by the
Corona Virus Covid-19, and hereby declare to extend the State of
Emergency in the Town of Wellsville for a period of thirty (30) days unless
sooner rescinded by me.
This declaration is following a Governor’s extension of the
Declaration of a State of Emergency for the State of New York.
This State of Emergency has been extended declared due to an
increase in confirmed cases of the COVID-19 Virus in Allegany County. In
addition, there is a large population of vulnerable constituents within our
town limits residing at, or visiting the several nursing homes, assisted living
facilities, and Jones Memorial Hospital that need to be assured access to
any/all resources available due to this declaration.
Currently, the Town of Wellsville urges all citizens to
follow the recommendations of the CDC and the New York State Department of
Health recommendations on hand washing, social distancing, and disinfecting of
surfaces.
Island Park and Tullar Fields will continue to remain closed
to all vehicular access thru the extended State of Emergency. There is
absolutely no use of playground or other public facilities at the park. The Town of Wellsville has no means to
disinfect or guarantee the safe use of any/all of these facilities.
The Town of Wellsville Offices will not provide direct
access to our Town facilities during this extended Emergency order; however,
Town Officials will be reporting for Duty and available by phone
(585)593-1780. Please call in advance to
coordinate arrangements in order to handle matters that require timely attention.
This State of Emergency will remain in effect for thirty
(30) days or until rescinded by a subsequent order.
I hereby direct all departments and agencies of the Town of
Wellsville, New York State to take whatever steps necessary to protect life and
property, public infrastructure, and provide such emergency assistance deemed
necessary.
