Flames consume West Almond home

Flames consumed a West Almond home Monday afternoon. Just after 2 p.m., 911 dispatched a half-dozen fire departments to Turnpike Road where an on-scene state trooper said the house was fully engulfed. Firefighters did have to contend with an on-scene hazard involving a propane tank stored at the rear of the home. Responding to the scene were crews and equipment from Angelica, Belfast, Belmont, Almond, Alfred Station, Friendship and FAST Team 1. There were no reported injuries and the cause is under investigation.
