Annual Election of the Cuba Joint Fire District


LEGAL NOTICE
ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE CUBA JOINT FIRE DISTRICT
On December 10, 2019
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Cuba Joint Fire District will take place on December 10, 2019 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the A.A. Arnold Community Center, located at 4 Green Street, in the Village of Cuba for the purpose of electing one (1) Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing on January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2024.  All voters registered with the Allegany County Board of Elections on or before November 18, 2019 shall be eligible to vote.  Voters shall also have been a resident of the Cuba Joint Fire District for at least thirty (30) days.
Candidates for District Office shall have filed their names with the Secretary of the Cuba Joint Fire District, at the Fire District office, no later than 20 days of the election, November 20, 2019.
Also on the ballot will be Proposition No. 1, as follows:
Shall the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Cuba Joint Fire District be authorized to purchase one (1) Pumper/Rescue truck and one (1) aerial truck to replace existing ageing units?  Cost to be no more than One and one half million dollars ($1,500,000), the source of which will either Municipal Bonds, Local Financing or leasing, as allowed under the provisions of the applicable sections of the New York State General Municipal, Local Finance and Town Laws.  Up to Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) of the above amount shall be taken from the Cuba Joint Fire District Apparatus Repair and Replacement Reserve Fund.
