Hornell murder suspect commits suicide in Steuben County Jail

The Hornell Arc staffer accused of stabbing an Arc resident to death November 4th...has committed suicide at the Steuben County Jail...multiple media outlets are now reporting that news. 64-year-old Alan Schultheis was in court Friday and was ordered to stay in jail. A Grand Jury proceeding was up next. The Spectator spoke with Sheriff Jim Allard who told them “he climbed to the second tier of the jail and jumped off, landing on the concrete floor, and was transported to Noyes Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment and passed at Noyes.
