Livingston County Judge sends man to state prison for multiple robberies

PRESS RELEASE -
Zachery A. Bishop, 21, of Piffard, New York was sentenced by the Honorable Dennis S. Cohen in Livingston County Court to fourteen years with the New York State Department of Corrections with five years of post-release supervision for his role in the January 15, 2019 robbery and assault at York Landing Road in the Town of York. Zachery A. Bishop was also sentenced to a concurrent term of nine years with the New York State Department of Corrections with five years of post-release supervision for his participation with others in a separate robbery on January 27, 2019 at Genesee Street in the Town of York.
On January 15, 2019, Bishop, aided by other defendants, forcibly stole personal property and assaulted the victim with a baseball bat at York Landing near the Genesee River in the Town of York. The victim sustained minor injuries in the attack and the incident was reported to members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office after Bishop was arrested for his role in the January 27, 2019 robbery on Genesee Street in the Town of York.
On January 27, 2019, at Genesee Street, Bishop along with three other defendants, plotted an attack on an unsuspecting victim, luring him into a darkened home and then forcibly stole his debit cards, phone and cash. The victim sustained injuries that included multiple facial fractures, bone fractures, fractured nose and a fractured rib.
The cases were investigated by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Livingston County District Attorney Gregory McCaffrey. “I commend the hard work of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department with their investigation into these heinous crimes. We are fortunate to live a community where vicious robberies and brutal assaults are a rarity, and these significant sentences show that this type of criminal conduct will be severely punished” stated District Attorney McCaffrey.
Kevin Dolison, 23, of Geneseo, New York was charged with several counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, two counts of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child for his role in the January 27, 2019 incident. He pled guilty to Robbery in the Second Degree before the Honorable Dennis S. Cohen in Livingston County Court on June 20, 2019 and was sentenced to five (5) years with the New York State Department of Corrections and five (5) years of post-release supervision.
Candace Ellis, 23, of Conesus, New York was charged with also charged with numerous counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, several counts of Assault in the Second Degree, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Petit Larceny for her roles in connection with each of these incidents. She pled guilty to Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree and was sentenced to two (2) years with the Department of Corrections and three (3) years of post-release supervision on June 20, 2019.
All of these matters were prosecuted by Livingston County District Attorney Gregory McCaffrey.
