"Life Under A Wind Farm" this week at St. Bonaventure

On Sept. 11 and 13, Tues. and Thurs., at 7:00-8:15 p.m., attorney Gary Abraham of Great Valley, NY will be showing the following films at St. Bonaventure University. These films are part of his seminar on "Environmental Law & Policy" but the films are open to the public. As noted below, the films will be shown at two different places on campus, Tues. and Thurs., respectively.
Tues., 9/11: "Life Under A Wind Farm" -- this is an early film that focuses on adverse impacts to people living in a community that hosts a wind farm, but it makes a real effort to show both sides of the debate about impacts. This film has a very enlightening segment showing the effects of shadow flicker inside a home. (Walsh amphitheater at 7:00 PM)
Thurs., Sept. 13: Up to six short films by independent filmmakers Snowshoe Films -- these films focus on very recent town board meetings and a State siting proceeding regarding two large-scale wind energy projects in Chautauqua County. There is some attention to people who live (or did live but left) Sheldon and Orangeville in Wyoming county as a result of wind projects sited in those towns. (Murphy Auditorium at 7:00 PM)
Everyone who attends is welcome to join in the discussions that will follow each film showing.
