Car chase at Alfred University, professor charged

ALFRED, NY – Alfred Village Police Chief Paul Griffith reports that there was a car chase on Friday at Alfred University. According to Griffith, Christopher Foster, 45, of Alfred, was charged with DWI, attempted vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and unlawfully fleeing a police officer. Foster is now in Allegany County Jail, $5,000 bail.
Alfred Police were assisted by Alfred University Public Safety and New York State Police.

Alfred University confirmed to Wellsville Regional News this afternoon that Foster is an assistant professor of music, hired in July 2007.
