Flooding conditions in Allegany County - UPDATED GRAPHICS

The torrent of heavy rain has caused flooding conditions in several communities in Allegany County. Through the night and this morning, the Genesee River at Wellsville steadily rose at a rate of about six inches per hour. In Wellsville, street flooding was reported and the fire department responded to several basements that were flooded. Cuba is also dealing with high water issues. State Route 446 in Cuba into Cattaraugus County was closed this morning due to flooding. Numerous fire departments and highway crews throughout the county have also reported flooded basements and water running over the road.
