Allegany County Sheriff Ricky L. Whitney reports that on
November 7, 2017, Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher
Herron, 36 of New Hudson, charging him with the following:
- Reckless
Endangerment in the 2nd Degree
- Criminal
Nuisance in the 2nd Degree
- Criminal
Tampering in the 3rd Degree
- Criminal
Mischief in the 3rd Degree
The charges stem from an incident at the Allegany County
Jail where Herron allegedly damaged property over $250.00 and jeopardized the
safety and security of inmates and staff. Herron was processed and transported
to the Town of Amity Court where he was arraigned and remanded back to the
Allegany County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 insurance company
bond. Herron is due back in the Town of Amity Court on November 29, 2017 at 5:30
p.m. to answer the charges.
On November 1, 2017, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office
arrested Kevin J. Tyler, 46 of Friendship, charging him with 2 counts of
Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree. The charges stem from an investigation at
the Allegany County Jail where Tyler allegedly contacted an individual who was
named as a protected party in an order of protection issued by the Town of Cuba
Court while incarcerated. Tyler was processed and issued appearance tickets
directing him to the Town of Amity Court on November 29, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. to
answer the charges.
