The
Genesee Valley Central School Drama Club recently received a grant check for
$1,400 from the Allegany Endowment Fund which is managed by the Allegany
County Area Foundation. This grant
money will be used to help revitalize the dramatic arts at the Genesee Valley
Central School. Jean Vallance, GVCS
Drama Club Co-Advisor stated, “Our drama program as designed will strive to
represent the “A” portion of the district's STEAM initiative. It will also further enhance and develop 21st
Century skills – collaboration, creativity, communication and critical thinking
– across mulitple grade levels.”
The culminating product of this drama program will feature students, grades 7-12, participating in a dramatic production for the community: “Night at the Improv”. It is envisioned that this project will bridge the Angelica and Belmont communities that comprise the district and strengthen the connection between the school and the residents of their district.
The Allegany County Area Foundation holds assets of over 9 million dollars. The endowed funds continue to grow in perpetuity to enrich and improve the lives of Allegany County people. If you would like more information on how you can provide a legacy of hope and good will in our community, please contact Denis Dahlgren at the Allegany County Area Foundation at 585-808-8444 or visit their web site at: www.alleganycountyareafoundation.org.
