Roger C. “Ram Jet” McDowell, 77, of Wellsville, NY, died
Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY. Born January 20, 1940, in Wellsville, he was
the son of E. Earl and Bernice A. Dockstader McDowell. He was married to the former V. Ilene
Nickerson, who survives. A graduate of
Wellsville Central School, he was employed as a machinist by Dresser-Rand in
Wellsville. He enjoyed woodworking,
restoring and showing classic cars, hunting, fishing, and taking rides with his
dogs. He treasured time spent with his
family and was known for his storytelling.
Surviving besides his wife, Ilene, are:
three daughters, Robin (James) Blake of Titusville, FL, Sherrie (Paul)
Allen of Painted Post, NY, and Kasey McDowell of Belmont, NY; two brothers, E.
Earl McDowell, Jr. and Wilbur (Carol) McDowell, both of Wellsville; nieces and
nephews. In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by three sisters, Joanne Cassidy, Laura McDowell, and Ruby A.
Dunham; and four brothers, Gerald L. McDowell, Thurlow S. McDowell, Robert E.
McDowell, and Volney E. McDowell.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, NY
on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m.– 3:00 p.m., with Funeral Services
following at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Bill
Sylor will officiate. Burial will be in
Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio, NY. Memorials
