Elberta L. Potter, 93, of Port Allegany, PA, formerly of
Potter Brook, died Friday, March 31, 2017 in Cole Memorial Hospital,
Coudersport, PA. Born June 18, 1923, in
Potter Brook, she was the daughter of William R. and Agnes M. Robbins
Truax. On February 6, 1942, in Harrison
Valley, she married Herbert S. Potter, who survives. She was employed by Galeton Production and
was the former office manager of the State Farm Agency in Westfield. Bert was a member of the Potter Brook Happy
Hour Club and was Past Matron and 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern
Star #33 in Westfield. She enjoyed
square dancing, gardening, and traveling.
Surviving besides her husband, Herb, are: two children, Betty Lou (James) Frost of
Wilmington, NC and William (Merilee) Potter of Port Allegany; five
grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris
Metcalf of Milledgeville, GA; nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by a
sister, Ruth E. Orcutt. Friends may call
at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Wednesday, April
5, 2017 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., with Funeral Services following at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Duane Burdick will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Potter
