On 01/16/2017, Scott A. Mastin, age 58, from the Town of Ossian, reported to police that his girlfriend had broken items and stolen property while she retrieved property on the day following a domestic dispute. The items were reportedly stolen from a residence on Scott Hill Road, Town of Ossian. Mastin claimed that a ring and necklace, worth a total of $3,000, had been stolen by his girlfriend. Mastin provided a written deposition and requested that his girlfriend be arrested. The investigation continued and it was determined that the ring and necklace were given to the alleged suspect during a marriage proposal.
On 01/31/2017, Scott Mastin was arrested by State Police from SP Geneseo and charged with the class A misdemeanors of Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd Degree and Making a Punishable False Written Statement. He is scheduled to appear before the Town of Ossian Court on 03/09/2017 at 5:00 p.m.
