Allegany County political scene getting interesting

The entire Allegany County legislature is up for re-election this November. The board makeup currently is 14 republicans and one conservative. At least two legislators have told Wellsville Regional News they don't intent to run again...but they won't make that official just yet, despite our pressure. A third lawmaker has also indicated a desire not to seek re-election, although that remains unconfirmed. The next several months...and votes...should be interesting as the local political process plays out. Haven't heard a peep from the democrats on potential candidates...
