Staff of Highland Park Nursing Home in Wellsville, New York plan to picket the facility on Monday, July 20 to protest their lack of a contract. Almost two years ago, Highland Park workers organized a union chapter in hopes of improving care and working conditions at the facility. In spite of months of negotiations, management has refused to agree to contract terms typical of other nursing homes in the region.
Highland Park staff have done a heroic job throughout the pandemic to keep their residents as safe as possible. It is time that they were treated fairly by this for-profit employer.

Highland Park employees are members of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. 1199 SEIU members work at over 70 nursing homes in Western and Central New York, including at nearby Wellsville Manor Care Center.
