Wellsville, NY – Eugene F. Coburn, age 82, passed away of a
heart attack on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 26, 1937 in Chicago,
Illinois.
Eugene graduated from Thornton Township High School in
Harvey, IL. He has an Associate’s Degree
from Purdue University in Indiana and was a member of the SME (Society of
Manufacturing Engineers). He retired
from Air Preheater in Wellsville as a Manufacturing Engineer and prior to that
at Whiting Corporation in Illinois. He
served in the military from 1958 to 1960 and was stationed in Germany, where he
met his wife, Gabriele. Prior to moving
to Wellsville in 1986, Eugene and his family lived in Glenwood, Illinois. Eugene and his wife loved to travel and spend
time with family and friends. They also
loved to work on projects in the house and in the yard.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Gabriele Coburn, two
daughters Elizabeth and Cynthia, sister Louise of Florida, sister-in-law
Willette of Alabama, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by both of his parents and his brother
Kenneth Coburn.
