Ronald Gale Monroe “beloved father and grandfather”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.----Ronald Gale Monroe, 84, of Coudersport,
formerly of Ulysses, passed away with his loving daughter by his side, on
Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in his daughter’s home in Shinglehouse, after a short
illness.
Born on Saturday, March 7, 1936 in Ulysses, he was a son of
L.J. and Eileen Tauscher Monroe.
Gale was a graduate of Ulysses High School and was a veteran
of the US Army, having served at the end of the Korean War and the beginning of
the Vietnam War.
He held various positions throughout the years.
Gale attended Coudersport Alliance Church. He was a member of Northern Tier Community
Action in Emporium, a member of Coudersport American Legion Post 192, and a
former member of the Coudersport Borough Council. He was a volunteer at Charles Cole Memorial
Hospital in Coudersport. He took great
pride in his blueberry patch.
Surviving are three children, Bryan J. (Anne) Monroe of
Lititz, Stewart R. Monroe of Garner, NC, and Jenell Saulter of Shinglehouse;
six grandchildren, Lauren (Paige) Saulter, Noelle Saulter, Katelyn Saulter,
Aric Sturdevant, Christa (Ben) McGlashen, and Rachel (Jeremy) Weaver; several
great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Monroe; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gale was predeceased by two
brothers.
In keeping with Gale’s wishes, there will be no public
visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coudersport Alliance
Church, 7 Alliance Avenue, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Gale’s family has entrusted his care and cremation
arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L.
Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
