Wyoming County Sheriff's Blotter

Amber L. Reinisch, 24, of Castile was arrested following a complaint on South Main Street in the Village of Castile.  Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies were requested to assist Wyoming County Child Protective Services with a home visit at an address on South Main Street.  During the home visit, Amber L. Reinisch threw urine from a cup onto Child Protective Workers.  Reinisch was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Harassment in the Second Degree.  Reinisch was issued an appearance ticket and scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Castile Court on August 3, 2020.

On July 13th, 2020, at around 7:40p.m., Deputies received the report of a possible assault on a child at a residence on South Main Street, in the Village of Castile. It was reported to Deputies that Loretta Sweeney (46, of Castile) had gotten into a verbal argument with a child and Sweeney struck the child in the face. Following the investigation, Sweeney was arrested for harassment in the 2nd degree – physical contact and endangering the welfare of a child. Sweeney was processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Wyoming County Court at a later date. 

On June 28th, 2020, at around 5:40p.m., Deputies of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office received a trespassing complaint of an all-terrain vehicle riding through freshly seeded hay fields behind a residence on Pee Dee Road in the Town of Java. Deputies later learned the property was owned by a farm on State Route 98 and the suspect was operating the all-terrain vehicle on private property without permission. While Deputies were attempting to locate the suspect in the fields, the property owners caught the suspect and detained him until Deputies arrived.  The suspect was identified as David J. Kleinsmith Jr. (33, of North Java) and while speaking to Kleinsmith about the trespassing complaint, Deputies believed Kleinsmith was under the influence of alcohol. Video evidence from the property owner showed Kleinsmith operated the all-terrain vehicle on State Route 98 and Kleinsmith was asked to perform standardized field sobriety testing. Following the standardized field sobriety testing, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where Kleinsmith submitted to a Datamaster DMT breath test. He was ultimately charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a .08% BAC or greater, unlawful operation of ATV on public highway, operate unregistered ATV, unlawful operation of ATV of private property without consent, operate uninsured ATV, operate ATV with no helmet and refusal to take pre-screen breath test. Kleinsmith was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Java Court at a later date.
