Friendship man charged with rape and sexual abuse

State Police Friday afternoon arrested Leonard L. Nichols, 58, of Friendship. He was charged with felony third-degree rape. Troopers said the alleged victim was less than age 17. He was also charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sent to jail on $5,000 bail.
