Oakley weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and stands 19 inches long. He was delivered by Dr. Heather Lanphere at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
Samantha’s contractions started a little after midnight and the couple left for Jones at 2 p.m. taking a little more than 15 minutes to cover the distance. According to Derick, “We meant business.” Grandparents are Krista and James Randall of Belmont, Laura Faulring of Caneadea and Darryl and Cheryl Blake of Cuba. Siblings are Haylee, Preston and Mya Blake and Aubrianna Randall all of Cuba.
A little over two weeks early, Samantha said, “Everything seems to be all right. We’re very blessed and I can’t think of a better way to start the new year.”
