“Each year the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention supports hundreds of large and small Survivor Day events around the world, in which suicide loss survivors come together to find connection, understanding and hope through their shared experience.” (AFSP 2019) This year’s event will include a screening of the documentary short subject “Pathways to Healing: Hope after Suicide Loss” and the testimonial “After You Lose Someone Close to You.” Both videos are produced through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Discussion and sharing will accompany each viewing, and a remembrance activity will take place to honor loved ones and commemorate the day.
The Allegany County Suicide Prevention Coalition is committed to embracing life by being a resource for suicide prevention, intervention and postvention. For more information on this event or other upcoming programs, contact Brent Tincher, Ardent Solutions at 585-593-5223 ext. 1010 or via email at tincherb@ardentnetwork.org. Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is funded by the Allegany County Suicide Coalition and Ardent Solutions, Inc.
