Livingston deputies charge Prattsburgh woman

TOWN OF OSSIAN - Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Steuben County resident on felony Criminal Contempt charges after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. On September 29, 2019 Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Lois L. Mark, age 56 from Prattsburgh NY, with felony Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree.


It is alleged that while Mark had an active court issued order of protection in place against her and text messaged the protected party numerous times. The charge is a felony due to Mark having previous Criminal Contempt convictions in 2017 and 2018.

Mark was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regards to bail due to the felony level charge. It was advised that Mark should be held without the chance of bail due to her having multiple prior felony convictions per the Criminal Procedure Law.

Mark was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Groveland Justice Jenean Love. The Judge did remand Mark to the custody of the Sheriff without the chance of bail.

The investigation and arrest were handled by Deputy Connor Boor and Deputy Jason Butterbrodt.
