Allegany County might make a statement Monday afternoon regarding county administrator "on leave"

Is Debbie McDonnell on leave from her post as Allegany County Administrator, or was she fired? McDonnell's first day on the job was June 11th. She took an abrupt leave of absence earlier this month. The county legislature meets Monday afternoon and there is nothing on the agenda regarding her absence. Wellsville Regional News reached out to Legislative Chairman Curt Crandall Friday, who basically replied "no comment" to our questions. Other legislators and county officials have been more than chatty...off the record. Crandall said he expects a public statement to be released after Monday's legislature meeting. McDonnell has already said in social media she no longer works for the county and is looking for new opportunities in Ohio.
Crandall said, that in the short-term, the county "is not missing a beat." He added that "we're not missing anything" as the 2020 budget preparation and adoption looms.  Crandall said he has "no concern," saying that colleagues are filling the gap.
Meanwhile, on the 'crazy conspiracy train' of information that flows to local media, including this site, county "officials" have no hesitation in suggesting law enforcement involvement over concerns...and so much more. Nothing has been confirmed and will likely be dismissed.
Allegany County dropped the ball on this one. It should have been the first to announce her departure...not left to a site like mine to  uncover it and report it...or for McDonnell to announce it on LinkIN. County taxpayers deserve to know, do we have a county administrator in place, or not? There is no room for secrecy. The fact that NO county legislator will speak on the record only fuels crazy gossip. This site, along with taxpayers, patiently await any type of announcement on Monday.
