Sayre, PA police charge Wellsville man with felony aggravated assault - bail set at $50,000

Sayre Borough police today arrested Dennis Leslie Smith, 27, of Wellsville. He was charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation, disorderly conduct, reckless endangering another person and harassment with physical conduct. Court reports indicated the crime occurred Sunday. Smith was arraigned at 12:45 a.m. by Magisterial District Judge Larry J. Hurley and was remanded to Bradford County Jail on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been set for November 12th at 9:30 p.m. When contacted, Sayre police were unable to provide any specifics regarding the alleged assault or arrest.
