Andover and Cuba – On October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Allegany County Pill Drop will be taking place at the Andover and Cuba Fire Departments. The Allegany County Pill Drop is a partnership between the Allegany Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Inc. (ACASA), the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Andover and Cuba Police Departments, and Partners for Prevention in Allegany County (PPAC). The Pill Drop takes place on the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National RX Take Back Day. The Pill Drops are completely anonymous and confidential, the partnership is asking that the community help them keep medications off our streets, out of the hands of our youth, and out of our waterways. Any type of unwanted or unused medications can be dropped off at the locations, no questions asked. For more information contact PPAC at ppac@alleganycouncil.org or visit https://ppaccentral.org/pill-drops.
