The Euclid Quartet
Bringing the beauty of first-class chamber music to audiences since 1998, the Euclid Quartet features acclaimed performers representing four continents: violinist Jameson Cooper of Great Britain, violinist Brendan Shea of the United States, violist Luis Enrique Vargas of Venezuela, and cellist Jacqueline Choi of South Korea.The Euclid Quartet takes its name from the famous Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, home to a wealth of renowned artistic and cultural institutions. They frequently perform as a guest ensemble at U.S. and Canadian music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival.
Accomplished cellist Adrian Daurov will accompany the Euclid Quartet in this year’s Artist Series performance. At the age of 15, Daurov made his debut as soloist with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra. He has earned top honors at music competitions around the world, including first prize at New York City’s L.I.S.M.A. International Music Competition in 2004.
While studying at Juilliard, Daurov served as principal cellist of the Chamber Orchestra of New York. He performs on a magnificent 1989 cello crafted by John Terry in Florence, Italy.
U.S. Navy Band Commodores
The U.S. Navy Band Commodores, the Navy’s premier jazz ensemble, have been performing the very best of big band jazz—for the Navy and the nation—for over 40 years. Formed in 1969, this 18-member group continues the jazz big band legacy with some of the finest musicians in the world. Their concerts are an eclectic mix of traditional big band music, exciting jazz vocal arrangements, as well as fresh new instrumental music written specifically for the Commodores of today.The Commodores have toured across the United States and internationally, bringing their distinct flavor of jazz music to enthusiastic audiences. Alongside the Airmen of Note (U.S. Air Force) and the Army Blues (U.S. Army), the Commodores host the Joint Service Jazz Festival in Washington, D.C.

Advance tickets for the Euclid Quartet performance are $16 for adults (19 and older), $7 for youth (13–18), and free for children (12 and younger) and Houghton College students. At the door, tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth. Season tickets can also be purchased, granting admittance to all six performances of the 2019–2020 season for a significantly reduced rate.The U.S. Navy Band concert features free admission, but tickets are still required for seating purposes.
