Travel Advisory - Interstate 86 Bridge, Corning, Steuben County

The New York State Department of Transportation announced today that bridge repair work will begin on Interstate 86 over Post Creek, in both the eastbound and westbound directions, on July 22, 2019.  This bridge is located approximately one-half mile east of State Route 414 in the City of Corning, Steuben County.  Work will consist of structural lifting and bearing replacement, concrete abutment repair and minor drainage work. For most of the work, two lanes of traffic will be maintained.  Occasional daytime lane closures may be needed during structural lifting and material delivery.  Work is anticipated to last approximately two months, weather permitting.
Motorists may encounter lane closures and could experience travel delays.  It is imperative that motorists remember this season to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter.
