Village of Wellsville aproves new three-year deal with DPW union

WELLSVILLE - The Village Board in Wellsville approved a new three-year deal with the union representing the Department of Public Works. The vote was 5-0. The union, AFL-CIO Council 66, local 2574 A&B, represents twenty-two workers. According to Mayor Randy Shayler, the new deal allows the village to reclassify some positions. Employee's in the union will also receive a 1% annual pay increase for each year of the contract. The thirty-page contracts covers every aspect of work.

In other news from the Department of Public Works, the village board accepted the notice of retirement from Malcom Gordon, Working Supervisor. The Mayor said the board "would reluctantly" accept the notice and thanked Gordon for his 35 years of service.
