Delmar G. Green
“beloved father, grandfather and brother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Delmar G. Green, 80, of Shinglehouse,
passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, July 19, 2019, in
Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, after a long illness.
Born on Sunday, July 24, 1938 on Kings Run, Ceres Township,
he was a son of Elmer G. and Marion B. Mesler Green. On June 27, 1959 in Myrtle, he married
Gwendolyn E. Howard, who passed away on February 29, 2000.
Delmar attended Kings Run Country School. He was employed by the former Olean Tile
Company in Olean, N.Y. for many years until his retirement. He held the distinction of being the longest-term
employee.
In his youth while in school, he was a member of the Future
Farmers of America. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and all sports. He loved his John Deere tractors, but his
greatest love was his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah L. (Todd Maxson)
Payne of Shinglehouse, Laurie A. (Clyde Jr.) Youngs of Ceres, N.Y., and Penny
S. (Gary) Sutton of Oswayo; a son, Steven M. (Judy) Green of Shinglehouse; ten
grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
four brothers, Richard “Dick” (Joyce) Green of Ohio, Milford “Tunk” Green of
Eldred, Leonard “Butch” Green of Ceres, and Gary (Marsha) Green of Rixford; and
many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Delmar was predeceased
by a grandson, Brandon Youngs; a great-grandson, Blazedyn Faulkner; a brother,
Milton Green; and two sisters, Rhea Seal and Virginia Babcock.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday,
July 22, 2019, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 S. Union Street,
Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at noon with the Rev. Chad
Shaffer, pastor of Bell Run Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bell Run Cemetery,
Shinglehouse.

Valley Rod and Gun Club, PO Box 186, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to the Eldred
Conservation Club, 356 Whitetail Road, Eldred, PA 16731.
Delmar’s family has entrusted his care to Kevin J.
