Walter A. Carpenter, 57, of Gold, PA, died Friday, July 5,
2019 in his home with his wife and dogs at his side. Born September 25, 1961, in Wellsville, NY,
he was the son of Mark L. and Eileen Johnston Carpenter. On July 2, 1994, in Gold, he married the former
Rose M. Wilde, who survives. A graduate of Coudersport High School, he was
employed by Westfield Tanning Company from 1984 – 2003 and as a waste water
treatment operator by Coudersport Borough since 2003. Surviving besides his wife, Rose, are: his mother, Eileen Carpenter of Hebron
Center; two daughters, Jessica (Brandon)
Fuhrer of Knoxville and Courtney (Ray) Madison of Elmer; seven grandchildren, Bryson Fuhrer, Dylan Madison,
Alexandria Fuhrer, Jeremy Fuhrer, Bailee Madison, Isaiah Fuhrer, and Stephen
Carpenter; five siblings, William “Bill”
Carpenter of Coudersport, Andrew Carpenter of Olean, Marleen Majot of
Coudersport, Roger (Betsy) Carpenter of Jamestown, NY, and Raymond (Angela)
Carpenter of Shinglehouse; nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his
