Belfast man headed to state prison for drug crime
A Belfast man was sentenced in Allegany County Court today to serve three years in state prison for a drug crime. Wesley Histed, 39, entered a guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Histed and two others were stopped last August for speeding on County Road 15 in the town of Granger. Troopers said the men were transporting heroin and cocaine with the intent to sell. Allegany County Judge Thomas Brown also sentenced Histed to serve two years post release supervision and ordered him to pay a $325 surcharge and $50 DNA fee. The case was prosecuted by J. Thomas Fuoco.
