Vandals damage political signs in Alma

Wellsville Regional News has, for the past several months, reported on the political unrest in the Town of Alma. That unrest has now turned potentially criminal. A reader sent photo's today showing seven political signs that were damaged or run over on the primary Election Day Tuesday (only posted three). The signs were damaged on White Hill Road #1. Causing damage to political signs isn't anything new, but the signs do cost money, which under the penal law, is criminal mischief. The best advice would be to simply show up at the polls - that's legal...damaging personal property isn't. The sheriff's department will attend the July meeting of the Alma Town Board.

Alma Town Supervisor Ronald Staedt issued a statement this afternoon saying -
the Town of Alma finds the vandalism of the election signs very disheartening...with the lies, intimidation and slander that are alive in our town. It seems like an impossible task to bring healing...however all things are possible for people willing to work for greater good of Town  that we all call home!
