Livingston County: 107 mph Speed Leads to DWI Arrest

YORK:  Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty advises of a Driving While Intoxicated arrest following a traffic stop for a 107 mile per hour speed in a 55 mile per hour speed zone.
Shortly after midnight on August 5th, 2017, Deputy Connor Sanford of the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit was shooting stationary RADAR on Telephone Road (Route 20) in the Town of York. The Deputy Sheriff observed a vehicle traveling east at a high rate of speed and got the vehicle on RADAR at 107mph.
The vehicle was stopped and the occupants of the vehicle were met with.  The operator was identified as 21-year-old Megan Rudney of Scottsville NY.  A roadside DWI investigation was launched which included Rudney performing field sobriety tests.  Following the investigation, Rudney was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. 

Rudney was transported to Central Booking at the Livingston County Jail for a breath test.   Deputy Anastassia Vasile of the Sheriff’s Office Jail Division administered the test which provided a BAC of .08%.  
Rudney was also issued a ticket for 107mph in a 55mph zone. Rudney was processed by Deputies and released on appearance tickets to appear in court.
